I am Back to the TRACK!!

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

My first day at the track since May of 1996—so over 10 years away from a LOVE of mine.

Track was a Love of mine until it all ended with a knee injury that took 10 years of my life to REHAB, lol! Not only did my knee need rehab, my mind needed it also. The confidence I once had when I stepped on the track had been shattered by constant pain, doctors saying I would never really run much again and surgery. Many of my hopes and dreams were gone, and part of me was totally lost.

BUT today October 31st, 2006 I recaptured a part of my soul!!

I stepped on the track and ran a GREAT workout and an now WHOLE!

What a victory! Thank you Jesus for allowing me to live my dreams

Here is the low down on my Track experience:

I arrived at the track at 12:30 and was 100% done at 12:30 , it was cloudy, breezy and cold around 40 degrees. I had eaten half of an Atkins bar at 8 am and a banana at 11 am.

10- 200meters with a 200 m walk/jog in between of 1:30 to 2:30
1. 36
2. 35
3. 36
4. 35
5. 34
6. 34
7. 33
8. 34
9. 32
10. 30!!!

A successful first one under my belt—on to improve those numbers!

Hey ya,
Everybody look at this!
a wallpaper of me!

Cool huh?

I had a Tiny Tuesday workout today and I am proud of myself for making time to call my Mommy on the phone today while laying in the tanning bed, multitasking at its best!

Ran on the treddy for only 7 mins…my knee started being all weird again…so I then hopped on the elliptical for a tish.

Then lifted back and bi’s–not much as I was starving. I had to stay fasted this morning for a Dr. visit and hadn’t eaten anything yet when I was at the gym… SO I cut my workout short to eat!

That fasting must have made me tired becuse I took a cat nap this afternooon. NOW I am off to go for a walk in the beautiful fall weather! AND I might get some intervals in on the upright bike right after that.

Toodles,
BuffMother!

4. bicep man- only works biceps and they are BIG!
5. old man rocker (long curly hair with earings)- this man did not look right in workout clothes…he’d been better off wearing leather pants to the gym

Have not had any coffee since Sunday…so that is going good. I am sleeping so GREAT! Although I am having caffine from tea…just no coffee. The reason behind the coffee ommitance is CORTISOL…coffee is supposed to elevate cortisol levels…and I don’t need any more of that than I naturally produce from my stressful life, lol!

I am excited for the weekend!! We have date night tomorrow…and I can’t wait to try the new pf changs and wear my new outfit. The weather here is BEAUTIFUL! so I will have to get outside to enjoy it a bit tomorrow too!

God Bless you,
BuffMother!

On tap for tonight UFC!!

I am proud that I made it through day 2 of no coffee!! I am trying to omit it from my daily routine for a while to see if I have any positive results. So instead I’ve been drinking green tea, but it is just not the same, I really miss my coffee at this point.

My day went like this today…
Got up
made pancakes for the kids and I had some too.
Then went to the gym, lifted legs with DH…a good workout.
r-bike warm up
russian squats
calves
walking lunges
deadlifts
knee exentsions
abs
Came home fed family, cleaned up.
Then went shopping by myself to Kohl’s, Old navy and Belk.
I got a buch of new ribbed tanks, a couple other shirts, a sweat suit and two pairs of softee pants.
So now I can trash some of my trashy workout clothes!!

Tonight we will watch the UFC pay per view, I am excited to see Franklin fight, he is probably my favoirte fighter.

He is a very smart, fit and personable fighter.

In other news, I am pumped up for this week of workouts…I am ready to hit this second week of buffing hard. I hit my goal this week of being 125 by Friday…so next Friday’s goal is 123!! I feel GREAT lighter than I was for contest training, it is so much more natural for me.

Have a super dooper night,
BuffMother!

Saturday Talk

Saturday, October 7th, 2006

I am proud today because I have learned to “slow down” a bit and enjoy life a bit more. This morning I got in a tizzy rushing to the gym, feeling the pressure to rush in order to get it all done in time to get a present and a Gunner to a b-day party by 1:30. BUT DH gently reminded me to “relax” and I was able to “slow down” and have had a GREAT day since!

We had a good workout-

Warm up r-bike 5 min
Lat pulls
110×15
push ups 15
130×10x2
pull ups 10

push ups 15

Hammer strength over head pull downs
90×20
push ups 15
140×8
Hammer strength Iso lateral shoulder press
50×25
push ups 15
50×10

core stuff-
oblique work
ab wheel
cats
supermans
hanging sit ups

Then off to the store, roller rink, fitness store- we are getting an upright bike finally- and MOE’s restaurant.

in a couple hours I will go for a hard run and can you believe my hammies are still SUPER sore from Wednesday’s workout??? That’s what happens when you take “a break”…SUPER soreness when you come back.

Have a GREAT Saturday and don’t forget about being proud of yourself today!

Sleepy Sunday–Oct 1st

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

October is I am Proud month—so being Oct 1st…let it get the positivity rollin’

I am Proud of myself today for getting to church…we’ve missed going for the last 3-4 weeks–so it felt good to go. Our regular pastor was not preaching, which is hard for me, becuase I LOVE my pastor. BUT I did “grab” a few postitive points from the sermon.

BUT,What is up? I am so sleepy today–I am having a hard time keeping my eyes open…It may be something to do with me being really sore…I had a little too long off of really lifting about 2-3 weeks….and now that I am back at it again–I am pooped! PMS doesn’t help much either. The weird thing is I took a nap yesterday, slept for 8 hours last night and still am hankering for a nap. Maybe I need some fresh air.

We are going to go out to eat as a family this evening…and maybe go to the mall…we’ll see on that part. DH wants to get an upright bike if we can find a decent one at a decent price today–so that would rock! If we had a bigger house, I’d have a home gym for sure. The “plan” is to get a bigger house in about a year…I can’t wait–Can you say Claustrophobia???

Yesterdays workout was running 3.3 miles with 3- 3 mins hard/1min off intervals and about 3 other 1 min intervals. Then DH and I lifted chest, tri’s and bi’s and of course I did ABS too!

love,
BuffMother!
