Make November “Thank YOU” month!!

Monday, November 5th, 2007

HEY THERE~~
I challenge YOU to make the most of the Thanksgiving season and make November “Thank You!!” Month~
Here’s some tips and ideas on how to do it:
1- take 10 minutes today and make a list of all the people in your life that you could say “thank you” to …aim for a list of 30- one for each day of November
2- take a couple minutes each day to say “Thank You” to that person at the beginning of your daily journal entry, blog or bulletin post
3- make sure to follow through by thanking them personally too!
Let’s have fun with it~~”
Thank YOU”!!!
Now here is my START to this Challenge:

NOV 1-Thank you my son, Gunner!
Thanks to Gunner, I am a Mommy!
Thanks to Gunner, I have a boy whom I can cheer on in Football tonight!!
Thanks to Gunner, I realize how much of my own attributes were passed on!
Thanks to Gunner, I have yet another man who will love me and whom I will love forever!!!
Thank You Gunner for being the BEST son in the whole world!!!
I picked Gunner to thank today because he has a BIG time Football game tonight…if they win tonight his team will go to the TOY Bowl!!! So I am going to be cheering LOUD for 33 and the rest of the WAR EAGLES tonight!!!

NOV 2- Thank you my Family!!
So for this second day of the month, I’d like to say “Thank YOU” to my Family…Meaning my extended family…My parents, siblings, the in laws, etc…I want to thank them for all the love and support they given me through the years. Family is important because at the end of the day, no one will ever care for you as much as your family.
I picked today to thank them because it is my youngest brothers birthday today, Matthew is 18 finally!!!Happy Birthday! I think God was preparing me a bit for motherhood by giving me a brother that was 14 years younger than me. I babysat him a ton the first 2 years of his life! And then I got a car, so I managed to do it less as I grew older, lol!
Thank YOU my family!! I love you!
p.s. poor Gunner….he was heart broken last night. They lost their game the score was 6:War Eagles, 7:Gators :(

Nov 3- Thank YOU ORIGINALS!!
I want to thank the Originals!!! The original founding leaders of the Rally Room. And did you know that at that time the Rally Room was called Team Elite? As our Yahoo! group out grew that format and as members wanted more security, leaders began to emerged there….These ladies were invited in in Jan of 2006 prior to us even opening the RR to the world on March 1, 2006. They tested it and were instrumental in welcoming all the newcomers when we did open up.
Since then they have all made an enormous impact on countless members of the Rally Room, including ME!!
Thank YOU so much for your devotion, positive energy and leadership in making the RR the BEST support group for women in the WORLD!!!
I LOVE You!!

And TODAY!! November 5th- Thank you HUBBY!
Today, I want to thank my DH Travis! He is my best friend EVER and is the reason I am BuffMother!! Travis, I can’t begin to describe all the reasons why I love you so much and all the value you’ve added to my life, but I an so thankful to God that you are in my life!
Thank you for your encouragement!
Thank you for your sacrifices you make to care for me and our kids!
Thank you for your involvement in my life!
Thank you for your LOVE!
Thank you for your desire to be with me over anyone else in the world!
Thank you for desire to see me succeed! I love that you are my Lover and my Friend!!
Thank YOU!!

Who should you say THANK YOU to in your life? What’s stopping you~ take the challenge and shoot to say thank you to someone every day this month~ Make November Thank YOU month in your life!!

HOWDAY~ !

First off~Thanks for all the congrats and kind words about my bodyspace member of the month interview…It has been so nice to feel the LOVE :)

It looks like summer is on full boar and ya’ll are really enjoying it, cuz’ it’s dead in cyberspace, lol! It was a lazy summer weekend around here too and we enjoyed all of it.

Yesterday we went for a walk up in Bella Vista around the lake a 1.8 mile trek followed by playtime at the park and McDonalds for lunch afterward. The kids had fun and so did I and GRANDMA….
Then today we spent sometime at the mall~ I returned a couple dresses and bought some RAINBOW flip flops~The kids were GREAT all day and we’ve all gotten some much needed rest.

ON tap for this week is continued “off” for me from workouts~ it feels really good to have a BREAK from the pressure to fit it in. I try to do this about twice a year- and I always come back stronger than ever! As for the kids, they’ll be busy with swimming lessons, Gramma’s last day here is tomorrow (sad)…and this is Gracie’s last week of preschool EVER!! She’ll get a week off before she starts kindergarten on the 6th- I am amazed, I thought the day would never come, lol!

~ I will join in on Booty challenge that’s going on in my RR on the 30th with that!! ! CAN’T WAIT!!

Yesterday I promised pictures…here they are! Some Pictures from this past b-day week

Have a great week~

I believe in Realtionships

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

I believe in relationships…we are made for this purpose. The reason God created man was so he could have “relationship”…that is AMAZING! And makes me realize that the HAPPIEST times of my life have been when I am actively seek out relationships with other people. I am a very independent person and have at times a tendency to isolate myself from interacting with others. It is my natural “I can do it better by myself” attitude. However, it is not very fun nor is it very rewarding when others are not involved in the process or the reward. That’s why I love the Rally Room! It keeps me in relationship with others and gives me a place to easily give my energy away through encouraging others!! I love the REALATIONSHIPS I have been blessed with in TEAM BUFFMOTHER!!
So, yesterday I ended up playing kickball at Gunner’s field day- luckily I had taped my ankle in anticipation that I may have to participate. I was surprised at how well I kicked, ran the bases and fielded the ball. NOW,both my DH and SON think I am “faking” my sprained ankle now, lol! I told them I just had adrenaline and I know how to get “up” for competition :hehe:

Then after supper I did a back, shoulder, bicep circuit style workout (all 8 exercises total of 3 sets)

1-pull ups: 13!!pb, 8, 7overhand wide
2-sit ups:3×50
3- bent over rows 30#’sx12×3
4-lateral raises 15’sx15-20 repsx3
5-one are db lat rows w/twist 30#x12×3
6- ab wheel 20,15×2
7- military press 25#’sx10×3
8- bicep curls 25×10x3

Then I rode the upright bike for just 5 mins (since I already did my intervals in the am)

I was BEAT and Luckily got to bed by 11:30 and slept in until 9!!
Now we are off to the gym for my last workout of the week, CHEST and intervals.

Have a super day filled with RELATIONSHIP~
OH and on SPIKE tonight the TUF finals is on–GO BJ PENN!!!

P.S.

Can you believe this used to be JULIE??

Julie has been a featured BuffMother! Success Story for months now, and recently wrote this AWESOME piece about “Why I love the Team BuffMother Rally Room” :

Why I love the Team BuffMother Rally Room by Julie Laughery April 2007

My name is Julie Laughery and I’m a 46 Year Young mother of 3 adult children. I’m hear to share my journey with you and let you know how I came to find “Buffmother” and how it’s changed my life and made me who I am today.

I had my first child at the age of 20 and my other two by the age of 26. I gave all I could to my children and their upbringing. I “Believed” that I needed to put them first and I always put myself and my husband second. I was that soccer mom, Girl Scout Leader, Den Mother and Childcare Provider. Intertwined in my being and all these hats was the desire to be fit, feel great and have back that same body I had before children. Along my road I would try and try to achieve this with some form of exercise video or aerobics in my living room, but I never could seem to follow through and meet my inner desired longings.

Then at the age of 39 something happened to me that changed the direction of my life as I knew it. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. It’s a syndrome that effects your muscle and joints. It was at this time that I decided I needed to make changes in my life. I gathered up all I could and found out that working out, nutrition, and supplements were important in combating the symptoms. I started to go to a gym and so begins the fitness journey.

I started working out and feeling better and this became my life. My health was my number one goal. I at first started with cardio and gradually worked my way into the weight room. It was all a process and over the course of the years in the process of feeling better than I ever I had lost body fat and gained muscle. The gym became a way of life for me. It was a lonely life though as none of my friends had this life and they just didn’t understand the new evolving me.

Then one day while surfing the web I found “Buffmother” and life changed for me even though my kids were all now young adult children. As I was reading her Introduction on “Believing” I realized that I “was” that mother that she was describing. I was that mother that had the belief that if I tried to give myself that extra time in the day for “Me” to reach my desires that I would have been selfish. I had the belief that as you got older that you were just destined to “look” a certain way and age. This was a real light bulb moment. I realized that I wasted a lot of time and there was no more time to waste. I could achieve a New and Improved me!

I immediately joined “Buffmother” and I’ve now been a member since the Rally Room first opened. The reason I stay and have become addicted to the Rally Room is because of all the wonderful, positive support that you receive. We all have the same goals. We all want to be Buff and the Best person that we can be!! You receive so much LOVE and SUPPORT for whatever you’re going through good or bad….It’s an AWESOME, POSITIVE and INSPIRING place. It feels so good to be a part of a movement that is for the improvement in self and inspiring and encouraging others. I strive to do this now in and out of the Rally Room.

I have made lots of friends in the Rally Room over the course of a year and I’ve had the pleasure to meet up with some of them in my travels. I’ve now met Melissa from Washington, Tracy from Utah, Tracy from Idaho, Jamie from California and this coming October will meet many others on the Buffmother cruise.

Becoming a “Buffmother” I for once in my life finally “Got It” what “Buffmother” Michelle was preaching….It’s “Believing” you can make changes and reach the goals that you set for yourself as long as you “BELIEVE” you can. I not only feel like this with my body now, but also with life in general. You can do anything you want and be anything you want. You just need to “Believe” and you can achieve this and be a good mother, daughter, friend to others in the process.

Since joining “Buffmother” I’ve entered my first NPC Figure competition. By being in the rally room through my competition prep I received SO much support. There were times when I wanted to quit and I would throw up a Blog to that effect only to hear my “Buffmother Friends” tell me….You CAN DO IT!! I needed that extra push when that little devil was in my brain telling me to give up. I will be speaking soon at a Rotary Lunch about my competition and so the journey still continues.

I had the honor of becoming one of the “Buffmother” Success stories. I have entered Challenges from Buffmother herself and received the reward of the “RELENTLESS” Challenge. I’ve learned to set my own challenges as well. One of them I just completed. I had professional portraits taken for my husband, a goal that I’d had for fifteen years and finally I felt like I had the body I was looking for.

I now BELIEVE that I can do anything I set my mind to. I’ve learned to set fitness goals. I’d never really done that before. I’ve learned to set challenges for myself. I’ve been working out for many years, but with no real goals and no real diet. I now know how to fuel my workouts, how to CHALLENGE myself and receive the results that I’m looking for. As “Buffmother” always says….Challenge=Change…I really BELIEVE that!!

The Rally Room has really been a Blessing. It’s “my space” and “place to belong.” In my space I can post my pictures, family, interests, etc., without worrying about man eyes seeing. In this place we’re all women and we understand and know the “joys” of motherhood, Tom, PMS, Menopause, and other issues that men would not understand or care to understand. Women need an outlet and the Rally Room is that and more!!

Thank You Michelle for your hard work and commitment in creating a place where we all benefit and receive valuable Information, Inspiration, Motivation, Encouragement and Support!!
We Love You!
